Programme Lead - Breakout Beauty Programmes [Freelancer contract role]
This isn’t a typical accelerator job.
We’re not looking for someone who has spent years inside government-funded programmes, tech incubators, or corporate innovation labs. We’re looking for someone who genuinely, deeply, unashamedly loves consumer brands – health, wellness, fitness, beauty – and has spent their career building relationships, managing accounts, running brilliant events, and making brands feel alive. Or both!
If that’s you, keep reading.
About Breakout Beauty
Breakout Beauty is the UK’s leading accelerator programme for emerging beauty, health, and wellness brands. Backed by Growth Studio and powered by partnerships with Boots, Tik Tok Shop, HSBC, and more, the programme delivers world-class mentorship, retail access, and industry connections to the UK’s most exciting founders and experts.
In 2025 we received hundreds of applications, reached 3.8M people, and placed winning brands directly into Boots. In 2026, we’re going bigger and we need the right person to lead the charge.
We’ll be delivering Breakout Beauty and Breakout Wellness in 2026…with more on the way.
The Role
You’ll be the engine behind Breakout programme delivery. This is an ownership role across the entire project – you’ll build, manage, and grow the ecosystem that makes the programme exceptional. You’ll work directly with the Growth Studio HQ team, our ambassadors, industry partners, and our startup community to deliver something genuinely world-class.
This is a role for someone who thrives on fast-paced, complex projects, driving connection, loves the craft of community building, and can hold the operational and creative together without dropping a beat.
What You’ll Own
Community & Relationships Building and managing the Breakout startup community, recruiting exceptional founders to apply, and nurturing relationships with alumni, partners, and industry figures across the beauty and wellness world.
Partnerships & Experts Identifying, approaching, and managing relationships with brand partners, retail connections, expert mentors, and sponsors, bringing the right people into the programme ecosystem and joining the dots.
Curriculum & Content Supporting developing the programme curriculum in collaboration with the HQ team – coordinating content that is genuinely useful, current, and inspiring for early-stage founders.
Marketing & Recruitment Leading the marketing strategy and execution to attract the best startups in the UK – across social, email, events, and industry channels. You know how to build a universe around a brand and you’ll do the same for ours.
Events Planning and delivering best-in-class programme events – from founder workshops to industry showcases. You care about the detail and the atmosphere. You know that a great event changes things.
You’re Right For This If…
- You have a background in account management, brand marketing, partnerships, or events – ideally in or adjacent to the consumer brand world
- You are genuinely obsessed with consumer products – health, wellness, fitness, or beauty brands – this isn’t a box you tick, it’s who you are
- You love meeting people. You’re energised by a room full of founders, experts, and industry leaders
- You get startups. You understand the pressure, the ambition, and what founders actually need
- You’re smart, resourceful, and highly organised – you can hold a big vision and manage the details
- You want to grow into the world of startup programmes and accelerators – and you want to do it properly, with a team that cares about doing it brilliantly
You’re Not Right For This If…
- Your background is primarily in traditional accelerator programme delivery
- You think “community building” means posting on LinkedIn once a week
- You need a corporate structure and a rigid brief to do your best work
- You’re not genuinely excited by the beauty and wellness space, consumer products, sustainability, founders and startups 😉
What We Offer
- The chance to deliver a genuinely exciting programme with real impact
- A collaborative, ambitious team that operates at pace
- Access to some of the most exciting founders, brands, and industry figures in UK beauty
- Room to grow the role and yourself as the programme scales
How to Apply
Send us a short note (not a cover letter – a note) telling us why this is the right role for you, what consumer brands you’re genuinely excited about right now and why, and what you’d bring to Breakout Beauty and Breakout Wellness. Attach your CV.
