Ask Me Anything: Everything You Need to Know Before Applying to BWUK

Webinar Accelerator Programmes

We hosted our first Breakout Wellness UK Ask Me Anything — an open session on what it actually takes to build a wellness brand that gets into national retail, ahead of applications closing on 18th August. Thank you to everyone who joined and came with questions.

Paul Finch the Architect to the Breakout programmes, opened the floor on everything registrants had been sending in over email and Instagram. Follower counts. Pre-revenue brands. Whether a beauty brand with a wellness play should even bother applying.

Here’s what was covered:

  • Why a polished application is the fastest way to weaken your chances — and the “warts and all” honesty Paul is actually reading for.
  • The one-minute, no-production video rule: a shaky clip filmed in the car beats a produced reel, every time. Personality is the whole test.
  • The £100,000 to £4 million traction benchmark everyone quotes, and why a founder with none of it can still land an interview.
  • What happens when your brand doesn’t sit neatly in beauty or wellness. Paul’s answer is more specific than “apply anyway.”

And Paul’s line on hesitation?

“If you’re in doubt, apply.”
