Innovation is the most powerful tool we have to solve the climate crisis. But for innovation to truly scale and make a global impact, it needs a strong commercial foundation.
Growth Studio is proud to announce an exciting new collaboration that underscores our commitment to fostering innovation and technological advancement. We are therefore thrilled to partner with Innovate UK Business Connect and Defra (Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs) to launch and drive the GeoAI Launchpad initiative.
The GeoAI Launchpad is designed to support the next generation of UK innovators harnessing the power of geospatial data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve significant environmental and agricultural challenges, contributing to a greener and more sustainable future. This program phase is essential for establishing the foundational positioning and successful market launch of the entire initiative.
The GeoAI Launchpad is the acceleration phase following the successful GeoAI Festival, a recent Hackathon where teams developed cutting-edge prototypes. This transition marks the shift from rapid concept development to focused venture building.
The Mission
The GeoAI Festival brings together the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Innovate UK Business Connect, and partners to drive rapid development of innovative solutions that leverage Earth Observation (EO) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enable smarter spatial planning and sustainable land and ocean use.
We are working with 19 exceptional teams from the upcoming Hackathon who are tackling three critical challenge areas:
- 🌱 Sustainable Agri-Food: Creating smarter, more resilient food systems.
- 🏙️ Next-Gen Spatial Planning: Using data to better manage our land and oceans.
- 🦋 Nature-Based Markets: Unlocking the finance needed to restore biodiversity.
The Goal: Turning Hackathon Ideas into Perfect Pitches
Our objective for this program is simple: Turning hackathon ideas into perfect pitches.
We are taking promising technical concepts from the recent hackathon and empowering innovators to turn them into professional, scalable, and attractive proposals for investors.
Over the next four weeks, the cohort will participate in four virtual Investment Readiness Workshops. We aren’t just teaching theory; we are building businesses. The curriculum will cover:
- Problem Definition: Defining the specific value of the idea.
- Business Model Articulation: Designing robust commercial models that can scale.
- Investor Outreach: Building the confidence to lead the conversation with investors.
- The Perfect Pitch: Creating a compelling story that captures the imagination.
The Destination: SpaceComm Expo
The program culminates in a live pitch event at SpaceComm Expo on March 4th.
Following an intensive on-site pitch practice day on March 3rd, the top 5 teams will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions live on stage to investors and industry leaders.
We are honoured to be part of their journey.
